FAQ

Where do you buy survivor upgrades in Steal Or Die?
Open SHOP with M on PC while in the lobby, then choose SURVIVOR. That tab contains Backpack, Sprint Speed and Stamina. The separate ENTITY tab upgrades the monster role.
What are the first survivor upgrade prices?
The source recording shows Backpack 15 to 20 kg for $2,000, Sprint Speed 30 to 31 for $800, and Stamina 10 to 11 seconds for $1,000. These are recorded menu prices, not a guarantee of the current shop or later ranks.
Are survivor upgrades the same as skill-tree nodes?
No. SHOP → SURVIVOR spends banked money. The V skill tree spends skill points. Its Faster Stamina Recovery node changes refill speed, while the shop's Stamina card increases the displayed sprint duration.
Do survivor upgrades last between rounds?
The shop explicitly says bought with banked money and kept between runs. Upgraded speed and stamina remain visible later in the same session. The footage does not establish what rebirth resets.
Should I buy Backpack or movement upgrades first?
If you keep dying during the escape, consider Sprint Speed or Stamina before more capacity. If you already escape but repeatedly leave useful loot because of the weight limit, consider Backpack. This is a practical recommendation, not a measured optimal build.

Your banked money and your skill points buy different kinds of progress. The SURVIVOR shop improves carrying capacity, sprint speed and sprint duration. You do not need to find those three upgrades on the branching skill tree.

What does the footage confirm?

This walkthrough follows FusionZGamer’s Steal Or Die session. The shop is readable at 24:07, two purchases have changed its cards by 24:12, and higher ranks remain visible at 42:55. Prices and values below describe that recording; check your own menu before spending.

The skill-tree guide covers the separate point-based system. If you are still learning how loot becomes spendable cash, start with the beginner’s heist loop.

Step 1: Open SHOP and select SURVIVOR

Press M on PC in the lobby, then select SURVIVOR. Check the word SURVIVOR in the left menu: ENTITY is a different tab, and PLAY AS chooses a monster rather than upgrading your runner.

Steal Or Die SURVIVOR shop displays Backpack 15 to 20 kg, Sprint Speed 30 to 31 and Stamina 10 to 11 seconds with cash purchase buttons.
The three cards show their current value, next value and purchase price together. Watch 24:07.
Upgrade What the card says First change shown Price shown
Backpack Carry more loot out of every run 15 → 20 kg $2,000
Sprint Speed A higher top speed when you sprint 30 → 31 speed $800
Stamina Sprint flat out for longer 10 → 11 seconds $1,000

The game labels the middle value simply speed. Do not read 30 as a percentage or attach an unshown real-world unit. Likewise, Stamina’s seconds describe that card’s duration, not how quickly an empty bar refills.

Step 2: Pick the upgrade that fixes your failed runs

Read the next value and the price before buying. The creator buys Sprint Speed and Stamina here. That sequence demonstrates working purchases; it does not prove a universal best build.

After cash purchases in Steal Or Die, Sprint Speed reads 31 at level one and Stamina reads 11 seconds while Backpack remains at 15 kg.
At 24:12, both movement cards have advanced while the Backpack card is unchanged. Watch 24:12.

Choose based on the problem you can actually identify:

  • You lose chases before reaching a corner: consider Sprint Speed, which raises the displayed sprint top speed.
  • You run out of sprint before reaching an exit: consider Stamina, which extends the displayed sprint duration.
  • You escape reliably but cannot carry your chosen loot: consider Backpack, which raises the displayed capacity.

More room does not make every heavy item a good pick. Compare the loot value list before filling it, and use hiding routes and cover when an upgrade cannot solve a bad position. None of these cards promises immunity or a guaranteed escape.

Step 3: Check your ranks after later runs

Reopen SURVIVOR and check the card values. The footer states “bought with banked money · kept between runs.” Later in this recording, Sprint Speed reads 33 and Stamina still reads 11 seconds, consistent with the shop’s persistence message.

The Steal Or Die survivor shop later shows Sprint Speed 33 and Stamina 11 seconds above the message that banked-money upgrades are kept between runs.
A later lobby visit retains the upgraded values and shows the next purchase prices. Watch 42:55.

This establishes persistence between ordinary runs in the session. It does not establish refunds, a reset option, the total price of every rank or what happens at rebirth. Do not treat the first-price table as a full progression calculator.

How is shop Stamina different from Faster Stamina Recovery?

The distinction is duration versus refill. The shop’s Stamina card says “Sprint flat out for longer” and displays seconds. The separate skill tree shows Faster Stamina Recovery I, whose tooltip says “Stamina refills 20% faster” and costs one skill point in the captured state.

Steal Or Die's separate skill tree selects Faster Stamina Recovery I, showing a 20 percent faster refill effect and a cost of one skill point.
This branching screen spends a skill point rather than the shop’s cash balance. Watch 14:39.

Buying a shop rank does not demonstrate that a tree node unlocked, or vice versa. Check the relevant screen when you want longer sprints, faster recovery or more carrying space.
